SF Halloween

For the past two years, I have shared San Francisco's elaborate Halloween decorations (here and here)--people go all out!  There even seems to be a contest in my office building where offices decorate their suite doors.

Enjoy!

And I'm attempting to imbed a video of the suite next to ours at work:

Happy Halloween!

Wacky Wednesday

Happy Halloween from the Greyhound!

Don't you think the greyhound is going to be the hit at tonight's costume party?

Happy Wednesday!

Moonrise

Will took this photo of the moon rising over Mount Diablo one evening last week.  Great views from his office building in downtown San Francisco.

Labor Day Weekend

A few highlights from a long weekend in Monterey and Carmel (a long time ago):

We met our friends from Orange County in Monterey for Labor Day weekend.  On the top of their list:  a leisurely tour along 17-mile drive.

We tasted wine at Georis and Talbott wineries in Carmel Valley before settling in to enjoy a foggy sunset at Mission Ranch.

Despite the clouds in the evening, it was an incredible summer day on the Monterey Bay.

A true black sheep

The next morning we visited the aquarium to see the sea horse exhibit one last time before it closes.  A new exhibit will be coming to the aquarium next Spring: Tentacles!

Our buddies were being fed right when we arrived.

Can't wait for the tentacles!

America's Cup

Our sweet friends invited us to watch the America's Cup race out on the water during the championships last month.

We were totally spoiled to get to eat, drink, and relax on their boat before speeding over to the race.

It was exciting: one of the first few wins that USA pulled off that ultimately ended in their comeback win.

Zoo Two

Back in July we spent a long weekend in San Diego.  We watched fireworks, got in some beach time, and took our now-2-year-old nephew to the San Diego zoo again.

The koala exhibit was brand new, and it was funny to see each tree with a single koala occupying each one.

Little nephew loved the giraffes last time, and they were equally interesting (and interested in us) this visit:

We didn't get to see the orangutangs last time around, and it was quite a treat this time!  They were active and larger than I had remembered.

I can't complain about having the little guy around--it gives us a good excuse to visit some fun kid-friendly places that also are captivating for adults, too!
